BOOK REVIEW
The Shetland Bus: A WWII Epic of Escape, Survival,
and Adventure by David Howarth
FIVE STARS
The saltiest sailors in the world.
A factual compilation of WWII Norse resistance:
One of thirteen overrun nations, little Norway was the first to
counterattack the Nazi invaders and they used German made Krupp
cannons sending 1,600 sailors and three battle ships to the bottom of
Oslo Fjord.
Wartime resistance came from Norse fishermen using their
own vessels along Norway’s North Atlantic coast nonstop through
gales and hurricanes. Excellent!!!
